Cloth dining room chairs – After spills, stains and fading, there may come a time to re-cover dining room chairs to give the dining room a new look. Striped material may prove to be a difficult pattern if you’ve never tried to use it before. All pattered fabric requires additional yardage if you want every seat to have the same look. With a basic boundary, the difference is not that noticeable. However, with stripes of different sizes, the difference more pronounced.
Reupholstering striped cloth dining room chairs, turn the seat and remove the four screws that secure the seat to the frame with a drill. And then set the scope to the side and put the chair on a canvas. Then place the fabric face down on the canvas. Center the seat fabric to center the pattern on the seat. Trace around the seat, leaving 5 inches of excess fabric all the way around the seat.
Cutting the fabric along the line with scissors. Remove the excess fabric, leaving only the piece that will cover the seat. Press one hand on the seat to hold the fabric in place, then drag an edge over the bottom of the seat and staple the fabric in place. Then pull the excess fabric from one corner straight up away from the seat. Tuck the right edge of the fabric under the left edge and staple it in place. Adjust the back of the frame and replace each screw to hold the seat in place and cloth dining room chairs all ready.
